Prayers
from a Horse
Author: Anonymous
1. Give me time to know what you wannt of me. I dont
understand your words.
2. Dont be angry with me when I do not understand.
I have only you to explain things to me.
3. Talk to me. Even if I dont understand your words,
I understand your voice.
4. Be aware that however you treat me I will not forget
it.
5. Keep me safe from harm, because I am no longer wild and
able to know my enemies.
6. Before you hit me, remember that I have teeth that could
crush the bones in your hand and hooves that could kill
you. But, I choose not to use them.
7. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative,
ask yourself if I am well or if something may be bothering
me.
8. My life islikely to last 20 to 30 years. Please make
sure that I am taken care of because I cannot care for myself.
9. Go with me on difficult journeys. Dont say I
cant stand to watch it, or let it happen
in my abscense. Everything is easier for me if you
are there.
10. Place your trust in me and I will trust you.
The Rainbow Bridge
Author: Unknown
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is
called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colours. Just
this side of the Rainbow Bridge, there is a land of meadows,
hills and valleys, with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There
is always food and water and warm spring weather. All the
animals who had been hurt or maimed are made whole and strong
again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and
times gone by. They run and play with each other all day.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small
thing; they miss someone very special to them, one who had
to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the
day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly
he begins to break away from the group, flying over the
green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been seen, and when you and your special friend
meet, you take him or her in your arms and embrace. The
happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress
the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting
eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life, but never
absent from your heart.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again
to be separated.
